Swan River, Dennis: Such a fun spot to kayak. This paddle on Swan Pond and Swan River has the advantage of an exceptionally easy launch with places to rent kayaks. There is always enough water, regardless of the tide, but the tide is strong so I highly recommend trying to time it so you go back to your starting point with the tide bringing you in. It’s the season for cranberries! The best time to visit cranberry bogs on Cape Cod is during the fall harvest season from late September through November. Visitors can see the harvest, which involves flooding the bogs and harvesting with machines or by hand. Many farms offer tours, but Harwich is known as the "Cranberry Capital of Cape Cod". Chatham, MA: The arrival of the pumpkins in October always makes me smile! This pumpkin patch is located on the front lawn of the First Congregational Church, at the start of downtown Chatham. It is a popular destination for visitors to take photos and also serves as a fundraiser for the Chatham Children’s Fund. You can visit the pumpkin patch daily through October.
